I have seen removal companys using the big yellow storage company go direct cut out the middle man all you have to do is hire a luton pack it yourself a lot cheaper

LOL - Heather - I work for Pickford's Self Store in York.
Price depends on how much you have to store. Our recommendations:
1 bedroom flat/house - 50 - 75 sq ft
2 bedroom flat/house - 75 - 100 sq ft
3 bedroom flat/house - 100 - 150 sq ft
4 bedroom house/flat - 150 - 200 sq ft
Prices
50 sq ft £24.67 per week inc vat
75 sq ft £32.60 per week inc vat
100 sq ft £38.19 per week inc vat
125 sq ft £47.00 per week inc vat
150 sq ft £58.75 per week inc vat
175 sq ft £67.56 per week inc vat
200 sq ft £76.37 per week incl vat
Hope this helps. Our prices are pretty good so other companies might be more expensive.
Remember also that this is for 'self storage' which means you can come and go as you please within opening hours. You will get 'basic' storage quite a bit cheaper if you do not need access to your stuff. I would ring around local removel companies and ask for a quote. Some have their own storage facilites and will pick up the goods for you (remember to ask them how much per hour they charge for collecting your items as this can be as much as £60 per hour!)
Hope this helps
