Directions to Wine House via dolmus'
« on: March 14, 2016, 19:18:01 PM »
We are arranging to meet up with friends at the winehouse. It will be our first visit to Uzumlu. We intend jumping on the dolmus at the junction of the Gunlukbasi High St and the Tugut Ozal Blvd. Will the dolmus go past the Winehouse or will we have to get off before and walk and if so how far is the walk. Thanks in advance for your help.

The dolmus terminates in the mosque square. The Winehouse is directly behind the mosque and approx. 100 yards slightly uphill and to be found on the right hand side of the lane Enjoy.

My thought are, is the wine good enough to travel for / to, as I've yet to taste a good Turkish wine and believe me I have tried.

There are good Turkish wines but not much of it ends up in Migros or your local bakkal.  The decent stuff is pricey and only produced in relatively small quantities with the bulk of it going for export.

Been lucky enough to try a few of the good ones (on other people's expense accounts!) and was pleasantly surprised.  Can't remember exactly what they were now, but do remember looking out for them in larger supermarkets without any joy.
