I have read the faq but still cannot see the way to enable email notifiation of topics/ replies etc[?]

Whichever member you wish to email click on their forum name which will take you their profile and you will see the link to send them an email.

The email notification of topics or replies has had to be disabled on this particular forum, due to hosting problems.
