Title: Virus/Phishing Alert - Google Tech Support
Post by: JohnF on November 16, 2014, 18:50:44 PM
Been a fair increase in the number of fake emails sent purporting to be on behalf of Google email support which are getting past the major email filters.

Various headings such as "Damaged message was found and restored" and "You have unsent messages in your outbox" etc.

The links contained in these messages are attempts to obtain your Google log in credentials.

DO NOT click through any of these links, no matter how "real" they appear.  Google do not send out notifications like this.  If you want to check your Google email or account, do it in your browser using the normal method, i.e. typing in the address.

Thanks John. Another one to look out for. :-(

I've noticed an increase in phone calls recently too claiming to be from Microsoft Support saying there are problems with my PC.

They hang up when I say I use a Mac....
