I'm feeling very silly because I'm sitting here at my desk, on my own, giggling.  ;-)  We're off to Ciftlik on Wednesday to furnish our villa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm SO excited.  Hehehehe!   ;D

Nearly there and it all looks lovely.   ;D   Or at least it will do after yet another good clean. Gotta smile though because the lovely Lutfu, Turkey's answer to John Inman, is mincing around our living room putting up voile curtains. Makes quite a change from the burley builder we've had here all week. What a sweetie.  :D

Yes it is really exciting when you are furnishing your new home and because you are starting from scratch you can make it look really gorgeous.  No searching round for furniture to tone in with existing stuff.

SuzzPuzz, thanks for showing us pix of your lovely villa. I'm looking for bedroom furniture of very dark brown wood - about the same colour as the chairs next to your dining table. The wood I'm looking for seems to be the same as your TV cabinet. What's the name and location (and website if you have it) of the shop where you bought this?  Grateful if you have this info!

Although some of that may actually be down to British tastes as opposed to Turkish tastes.
Still it's good to know that despite the styles shown on the sites, it's possible to buy a really lovely set of sofas like you did.

I saw a corker of a suite in a house I viewed back in May. It was purple and orange leatherette with black crochet cushions. I actually loved that house but the sellers changed their mind and are staying put now.

Thanks for this info SuzzPuzz. I visited the site (likewise with others: Ouch!) but I want to buy a couple of pieces of simple dark brown wood furniture hopefully to match existing furniture (similar to your dining table and chairs) and I've printed the Google map so we can locate the shop when we're there in September.

We holidayed in Fethiye from 1989 and then in 2008 got our apartment there,  I still get just as excited as I did in the early days.  When and if that changes, but I can't see that happening, it will be time for a change.  Enjoy!  I'm sure you will.  One week today we will be there - hooray.  ;D
