Lighting Up times
« on: July 04, 2017, 22:47:32 PM »
Sitting at home here at 22:45 and it is still "light" outside.

When we visit in June and September it gets "dark" around 8:00.

So when is the longest days in Calis and at what time of the year.

The Summer Solstice is on the 20th or 21st June in Turkey as it is throughout the rest of the world. The actual day varies annually. So, the longest day is either the 20th or 21st June. Sunset in Istanbul on the 21st June 2017 would have been around 21.00 and roughly the same in Calis.

The shortest days are around the 21st and 22nd of December.

It never really gets totally dark in Scotland where we live in June/July.  I love the light nights and not drawing the curtains until around 11.00pm.
