Has anyone been during the day this season so far to the Sat if so are they still charging to lay on a sunbed and what are the prices like for food this year? Many thanks
-
We went to the Sat when we were out last month so it was still quite early in the season. We weren't charged for sunbeds and still had waiter service to them. We had lunch up on the decking area. Wasn't that expensive either and it's still a fabulous view from there.
-
Maybe not expensive but was the food good Marina?
-
Thank you Marina Derek is keen to give it another try when he arrives next week so am I so we will see now the season is underway if they charge for the beds!

We only had a pretty simple lunch there, I had a salad and OH had a sandwich, with the usual trimmings, so can't really say what the main meals were like. Ours were fine for what they were
It was a Saturday when we went and there were a lot of locals eating and drinking there, so presumably they think it's ok. :)
-
We went Saturday evening two of had steak, one had chicken pasta an one had skewers of lamb.
we all enjoyed the meal. sat out on the glass floor looking down at the sea, lovely views and a nice breeze.
-
So my neighbours went to Sat other day group of 4 no charge for sumbeds we biked down today and they wanted 15 tl each sunbed we said we'd be having lunch and drinks but thee chap didn't care still 15th each so we hot up and left it's about the principle not the money!
-
Such an idiotic way to run a business. In the pursuit of 60 TL you lose all business from 4x lunches, drinks etc.
Oh, and the 60 lira :D

What an idiot! Perfect way to lose business.
I prefer Aroma anyway! ;D

Well we were soo looking forward to going back to Sat after not going for a few years but it just left that nasty ole taste and they honestly seemed like they couldnt care less! Our sentiments entirely Keith a ridiculous way to run a business, why dont they get that im sure theyd get more customers if no charge...The Aroma is defo doing something right :)

Cant believe this, Derek has been going down for a real early morning swim every day while the sea is still lovely and calm, this morning he decided to swim in the sea by the Sat the very extreme bit as you get there it was 6.45 am and a guy from Sat came on to the beach and basically told him he could not swim there. It was 6.45 they werent even open, 100% we are never going to go to Sat again, talk about grabbers! Its made me really p@@@@d off I appreciate things are hard here for some folk but things like this do not endear us one bit to give them our business! :o
-
We gave them the bums rush years ago. Expensive and not the best service.
-
Or food.
Must be 10+ years since I have been there and won’t be concerned if it is another 10.
-
They are soooooo out of touch there. Overpriced, under achieving, and up their own 4rses. No wonder its always deserted. Such a waste
-
Yes nail on head Toky -when they opened it was to be a cut above the rice chips and salad restaurants but now with Carikli, Mancero etc they are miles behind.
We normally visit Calis for 10 days in October and there are way too many favourite restaurants to try and cram in, all way higher in the list than the pretentious but serially underachieving Sat Restaurant.
-
Jolly well said Toky it is such a waste but hey ho their loss as Keith says so much more choice here now, I was sooo cross yesterday Derek came back and told me this what do they do sit up all night and keep watch in case someone dares to swim in the sea near them!
-
Are they legally entitled to stop people swimmiing in the sea
-

Not sure they own the sea. He should have told them to do one👍
-
I am not so sure I would've walked away without giving the idiot the ear bashing of his life
We've not been down there for years now and reading this thread hasn't changed my thoughts to give them another try.
Too many great places around now to bother even considering it
-
I dont know H re legally being able to stop people swimming in that bit of sea...the bloke was rather “aggy” and Derek simply couldnt be bothered to argue with him, its not what we came out here for...same thing happened to my neighbours in the same or very near location when they took their dog onto beach...lots of things this time of being here have just irritated us sooo much things we would have found quirky or funny years ago...the Sat being no 1 on our list! The animal situation is high on my list thats no 2 i think! Im seriously wondering if its time to go back to being a holiday maker /tourist here, soooo very glad we never did move over here full time like i wanted to when we first bought :(
-
Tell them to call the police -problem solved.
-
Beaches that charge for sun beds in and around Calis are pristine, well maintained, with excellent facilities that are extremely well cared for.
Some similar beaches that do not charge for sun beds are beginning to look a tad tatty.
Discuss.

Still eh ?
-
And its an eh from me too!
-
Sorry - too left field. Whenever as schoolboys we were told to "discus(s)" we tried to divert the subject as far away as possible! Blame Phil....! :) Must try harder...
-
Still dont get it Scorcher but hey ho :) actually i dont agree with you Phil re the places that charge in Calis are well cared for etc, the only one I can think of who does charge in Calis for beds is the Sat, Aroma is lovely and is well cared for but doesnt charge to use the beds, Zentera is lovely doesnt charge, Guvens is lovely doesnt charge, weve had the best ever pides at Guvens this year dont know why weve never had a pide there before, you are always guaranteed a nice welcome from Carole and Guven and they are the only ones here who have ever said to us eg 36 tl call it 35tl! To us its the Sat’s loss 150%!
-
We have never had a problem with Aroma or Guven's. Always top service in both. As long as you spend a bit of cash the beds and brollies are free. If I want to pay for a sunbed I will go to Spain ;)
-
Whilst we have never used the sun beds at the Sat, I can say that we have occasionally stopped there for a drink or lunch and have had no cause to complain.
Had lunch there twice in May/June this year and both times the food and service were very good.
They were pretty quiet at the time - not been there in the evening for a few years.

We use Sat, restaurant and take friends there tn the evenings, lovely views, and food.
-
Went to the Sat last week for evening meal. The food and the service was excellent. We had chicken shish & lamb shish. Came with a very nice baked potato portion filled with creamed potato rather than chips etc. Cost (inc a bottle of wine) was maybe 20% more than the main drag.
Wouldnt hesitate to go again.

Just to update on this thread. In all the many years we have been going to Calis, we have never been to Sat Beach. We have been missing out! We went three times over the last two weeks and every meal was marvellous. Highly recommended. On Friday, we stumbled across the Calis Boat end of season celebrations being held there - the chefs were very busy. Still received a superb meal.
-
Yes our friends went this year and said it was wonderful. Might give them another try next time we are out.
