Title: Dolmus card only

Info for any of you coming here who use the dolmus to get around, they are currently not taking cash so please have a bank card that iş accepted by the scanning machines on the dolmus or buy yourselves a kent card that can easily be topped up as required, I know they sell them in the newsagent(market shop) just passed babzen going towards dolphinless roundabout,  think there 7.50 or 10TL  & you can put on (top up)as little as 10TL if you want in the shops that sell the cards or there are automated top up points around, mosque in fethiye, dolmus stop by petrol station in fethiye just past banks.

Thanks for the good info, we think we might buy a moped instead of using the Dolmus, we have already got bicycles, but  we would be able to go further on a moped and feel safer than sat beside everyone on the Dolmus  8)

Does the same apply to the bus from Calis to Fethiye or can you pay cash?

Driver of the Dolmus I was on yesterday  would not accept cash from passengers

The dolmus I was on last night accepted cash for a single use card, cost was 4.25 lira.

I’ve just used my TransferWise card on dolmus 3.25 each. He wouldn’t take cash.

We have been on a Dolmus 2 times for the past three weeks  and each time they have taken cash off us and anyone else who wanted to pay cash and it was 5 lira each for everyone......sounds like it cost more when you pay by cash  >:(

On today’s Dolmus there was a recorded message in both Turkish and English saying we no longer take cash. Must be the luck of the draw which one you get on.

No Fran it was not luck of the draw...we went on the Dolmus again yesterday and today and more people were paying with cash than using a card, and yes you are right there is a recorded message in Turkish and English  saying they no longer take cash, and it is 5 lira each cash, we will next be going on the Dolmus on Saturday and we will pay cash , if you go on the Dolmus  and give the driver cash you will see what  mean   :)
