just wondering what is the price of beer in a bar's this year?
last year was paying around three lira and some places 3.50 lira
exchange rate is also low this year .
-
Mostly between 3 and 5 TL(in the clubs) About 1.95 TL if you buy in Migros or similar. :)
-
We pay 2.5 TL for a large Efes.

It was 2.5 in Calis a few weeks ago in most of the bars. That was 1st week in April - have they put it up?
Teresa

They always do, when the season starts
-
It is still 2.5 YTL in some of the bars in Calis. Vals bar in Fethiye is 3YTL. Yakamoz is 3.5YTL. The cheapest one this year so far is the hotel at the end of the Calis promenade where the belediye bus turns around. Cant remember what it is called but it has just been renovated. I will let you know the name but on Sunday it was 1.75 for a large Efes.No pain!!!!

-

-
Bars still 2.5-3ytl

Rach,
Is that the new Oben on the corner at the dolmus terminal end? We used to drink at his old bar before it fell down. The owner likes to call himself Dustin Hoffman for some reason. Nice bloke and keeps his prices down too.

-
Stoop it didn't fall down, someone reported him for not having a licence and they knocked it down! he's a nice bloke, sometimes wears an Accy Stanley strip top.
-
That's the man - Goran. He told me it had fallen down but I did hear the rumour it had been knocked down for the reason you say.
His sister used to work with him but she now owns her own place a little further down towards the dolmus terminal. It looks a bit like a beach bar. I think they split due to Goran marrying a girl from Manchester.
We spent many a night in the Oben 2 Corner when he had it. It was always our last port of call before we booked the taxi.
He always has cheap beer.

Try the new English Bakery great couple who run the joint Brian and Babs 2.5ytl all year round for a beer and the food is fab too nothing too much bother for them try them. The Bakery is on the sea front next to the new Mado,s Icecream parlour near the childrens park Fethiye.
-
Seril 1 has been cheap for a while, went in there a few times last Sept when it was only 1.5ytl, Aura bar is 2ytl for draft beer up until 10pm, but most places as been said is 3 or 3.5ytl
-
Strange that a thread entitled 'beer' has attracted so many readers ! (over 700!). What does this say about the CBF members ? :o:D
-
nothing strange about that, although i do find it strange they put rice in the beer, also can't for the love of money find any squash or hi juice, or lime cordial.

At the risk of being off topic.
Squash is available at Tansas or Migros usually found near the fruit juice. Lime cordial or limes even don't seem to exist in Turkey!
-
Oben was 1.99ytl for a draft pint the other week:P:D
-
Stoop, what happens if you pay as you go and get wrecked, do you go home with a bag of sweets instead of all the 1kurus. Alan
-
LOL - I think he actually expects it to form part of his tip!

draft (BEER)
[Show phonetics]
adjective [not gradable]
(of beer) stored in and served from kegs (= large containers), usually in bars and restaurants
We have a large selection of beers on draft (= stored in large containers).
OK - it's an Americanism - so what? You have far too much time on your hands:D
