There's a shop on the "back road" just past the Carole & Tayfun office on the same side & before the official Turkcell shop, the guy in there was very helpful & had several second hand phones at reasonable costs (Turkish reasonable!) the last time I went in.

Mark, that's incredible value, you say that you will register it...where / how do you register a UK phone for use here, I have a spare that I use a roaming SIM in but did not know it would be possible to register that one. Thanks Lorraine

Yu can register an English mobile here but!! Yoou will need a passport stamped within the the last 4 weeks to register and if you havent got residency will have to buy a new sim card which can only be used in that phone. You will need your passport and have to sign loads of forms. My mate Busy Bee has had a nightmare trying to get hers sorted. Over to you B. x

Just go in the Turkcell main shop in Fethiye 200 metres before the PTT (Iam sure many other shops do it) you need a passport stamp in the last 4 weeks as Anne says, they charge 5tl but we only ever sign one form. You will need a sim card if you do not have one.

I think you will find it locked to a network in the UK. I have bought unlock codes thru  ebay and for about £1 or so and unlocked myself. Hubby's phone cannot be unlocked though and my latest phone although unlocked and registered to turkcell, wont send pictures or play music any more. :(
