Pre-fab houses?
« on: February 27, 2012, 08:31:06 AM »
Has anyone got any knowledge on pre-fab housing for sale in Turkey, we particularly interested in the "Log cabin" style. We are thinking of buying a piece of land in a rural area which we will then "donate" to a Turkish friend who will allow us to site one of these. Cheers, Martin

Hi, I think I've seen an advertisement for this type of property, if I remember rightly it is on the main road through Gunlukbasi, going from the Otogar roundabout towards Dalaman.

As to the idea of "donating" the land to a friend, be careful, what would you do if your friend decided he could build a block of apartments on your/his land. Also you might have problems getting mains water and electricity in a rural area. Please think it through before you commit yourself.

Be particularly careful if your friend is a barman, builder, developer, taxi driver, family friend, waiter, restaurant owner, shopkeeper or just an all round great bloke that you have known for 2 weeks - 5 years, or anywhere in between.

Very good advice. I know someone who lost a lot of money to a bar owner/friend they had known and trusted for years.

Good advice indeed but headroom has had a villa in Kalkan for years according to his intro. I think he is looking for advice specifically about pre-fab houses, he did the property purchase bit a long time ago.

Yes but donating the land he is going to buy seems a strange and risky way to go about things.

thank you for your concern LeeGlo usedbustickets and quackers, but as Scunner pointed out I have had a place in Kalkan for the past 7 years, so not completely green, I fully understand the laws with regard to land, property etc., we are selling the villa to downsize & retire, the "log cabins" look ideal. I was just enquiring whether anyone knew of any sellers. Thanks.

On the front in Fethiye, walk towards the palm roundabout. The shop has one side on the main drag and th other in Paspatur. It specialises in log cabins and land
