Abandoned Cats!!
« on: October 20, 2009, 14:50:41 PM »
Not sure if anyone can help me, but a couple of our neighbours have just moved and abandoned 2 cats. These cats are semi wild but have always relied on our neighbours to feed them. I was hoping someone might be able to help in getting them up to the animal sanctuary, otherwise they will starve to death as they don't know how to fend for themselves. I can possibly find someone to take them there, but have nothing to put them in, ie: cat box.  :)

Unforunately Anna at this time of year there is an explosion of abandoned cats all over Fethiye and if we were to try and rescue them all we would need a removal van and work 24 hours a day, they are a bigger problem than the dogs now.

Pauline had to get a taxi today to get a dog up there, we do not have a car.

Do you not know anyone with transport who would help you?

Andy

Anne Marie,

Miaspyro (Maria) on the forum has very kindly volunteered to take any animals to the animal sanctuary, e mail her to ask and I am sure she will take them once you have caught them.

Anna
Borrow a couple of carriers from any vet Take a taxi to the sanctuary or a dolmus which stops round the corner from you !
If you are concerned about these poor cats you will do it
NB Your ex neighbours cannot be responsible for all of the cats in Gunlukbasi
NB You have also fed these cats over the years !!!! :-\

Sugarybaba,

I'm not suggesting my neighbours are responsible for all the cats in the area, but when they have fed them and basically looked after them since birth I think it's disgusting to then just up and leave and not give them a second thought!![:(!] I would also like to clarify that I have never fed these two cats!! The only time I was responsible for feeding them was when my neighbours went to UK and asked me to feed them with food that they had bought!
