Having read all these posts, I have to say "What's new". We always holidayed in Olu Deniz before finding the beautiful place that is Calis. In those days it was not unusual for shops, bars to be closed by the council or zabita for hasseling tourists. Calis just happens to be getting the treatment at the moment, but it will pass. There seems to be a lot of scaremongering on here regarding this subject especially by people who have been told by unknown persons that this is getting really bad. Who are these unnamed people who give you this information. I will be in Calis next week and if I don't see at least  1000 people eating and promenading along the prom after 9 pm I will show my backside. Calis will never lose its charm, unless of course Edrogan turns off the sun and stops the sunsets.

It might lose a bit of it's charm if alcohol is banned and women have to wear a burka.

I don't think it's scare mongering. Just read the Turkish press to see what the government have been doing for the last few years.

If this party get in again then I worry what mandate they will have to be honest.

Lets not forget, many Turkish, both young and old also holiday in Hissy,Olu and Calis, they don't seem to be adverse to the odd glass of wine or beer, and are very comfortable in their European choice of beachwear.
I wonder how they view the whole situation?
Of course if they feel strong enough about it they have a vote.
