Last week I ordered Euros to be delivered to my home address. The reason for this was that 2 of our grandchildren are going to Spain and 1 to Portugal soon.We wanted to give them pocket money. The best rate at the time was the Post Office,so I ordered and paid for Euros to be delivered to my home by 1300 hrs next day.
At 1415 hrs next day,the Euros had not been delivered and I phoned the helpline number.I was informed that enquiries would be made and someone would phone me back.
I received a return call saying that I had not been at home when the postman had attempted delivery and that a note to that effect had been put through the my letterbox.
I was in all day,and there was no note.
I informed the helpline of this.
At around 0930 hrs the following day,I received a phone call from the helpline saying that they had received a message from the local sorting office that I had collected the Euros earlier that day from there, producing a driving licence as proof of identity.
I informed them that I had not collected the Euros.
A short time later,a Post Office Manager arrived at my home and at the same same time I received a request from the helpline to send them copies of my signature, which I did.
The rest of my hair was now going grey, and I quaffed a beer.
I asked the man from the Post Office to find the post man to show him the house where he had delivered the Euros.
He said he couldn't find him?
?
He left, and shortly after I received information that my signature, and that of the person purporting to be me were not the same.
I got my Euros the following day,but have not received any follow up from the Sorting Office.
I won't order Currency on-line again.
