Ovacik or Hisaronu
« on: January 05, 2012, 13:08:14 PM »
Have been to Calis Beach twice and love it.  Thinking of trying Ovacik or Hisaronu for a change.  We are a couple with two boys age 15 & 16, looking for a private rented apartment for comfort.  Can't decide between the two.  Is Hisaronu too noisy as we like to be able to walk to the busy spots at night (without a ten mile trek) but stay somewhere slightly quieter during the day.  Any advise appreciated, as have passed through by dolmus but don't know where Ovacik stops and Hisaronu starts.  Many Thanks Alison

Why not try Olu Deniz. The beach would help keep them occupied during the day and there is plenty of nightlife including bowling. It is good and quite cheap to eat at the cafe under the bowling alley. You can stay just outside the main drag where it isnt too noisy but easy to walk into Olu itself. You can cheaply get the dolmus to Hisaronu for some more nightlife. There are only mainly restaurants in Ovacik which ends roughly by the PTT?:D

Depending on the time of year, Olu Deniz can be a good 5 degrees hotter than Ovacik/Hisaronu which can be a bit too much of an evening in the height of the summer. Prices also seem to be a little bit more.
Hisaronu basically stops at the roundabout by the Monday market. Ovacik straddles the Fethiye- Hisaronu road and as Mercury has said is mainly restaurants - mixed in between, hotels and complexes. For convenience I prefer Hisaronu. There are plenty of complexes in Hisaronu very convenient for the High Street, but also quiet at night. Just avoid apartments behind shops and bars actually on the High Street. If you choose Ovacik avoid the main road(s) as traffic struggling up the hill can be quite noisy. Hisaronu is excellent for easy access to Kaya as well as Olu Deniz and the lagoon beaches. Whichever you choose - enjoy

Take a look at Evergreen apartments.
They are located about 150 meters behind the bar street (next to the dolphin pool disaster) but not noisy.
There is a massive pool and also fitness and sauna.

There are several listings on holidaylettings.

Thanks for all your info

Have been recommended Brooklands, Evergreen and Seebreezes.  Have booked through holiday lettings or Owners Direct for the past five years, would'nt consider a hotel again due to having 2 six feet teenagers, need plenty space and appreciate a living area with DVD for when the sun gets too hot....

Any other info, much appreciated.

Brookland 2 and 3 had their share of problems this season and neither had a pool for most of the season - I dont think its guarenteed that the problem will be eradicated this year . Would recommend, Nicholas Gate, Hillcrest 2 and Hisar Gardens for convenient quiet positions.

Hi, just sent you a private message. We have an apartment which is basically between Ovacik and Hisaronu.
You can view by clicking on the little house symbol above my post.

Ovacik finishes at the main roundabout and Hisaronu begins (where the Monday market is).
