hisaronu dolphins
« on: March 17, 2010, 18:53:14 PM »
This subject does not appear to have been discussed or disputed enough on the forum.  I have been to the building site where the Russian company are planning to build the dolphins pool and it is shockingly small.  I know that every person that I have spoken with is against this dolphinarium. More action needs to be taken.

The dolphins will suffer from lack of space and the soundwaves they themselves create, bounce off the narrow sides of the small pool will drive them crazy as well as the soundwaves from the thumping music in Hisaronu into the early hours.  There is also the issue of the water which they are to be kept in.  They need extremely specialist pool equipment to clean the water as there is no natural salt.  They should have large holding pens which there does not appear to be.

This  situation is atrocious. The world dolphin association has arranged to meet with the governers in Mugla regarding this.  I personally have been to visit the Olu Deniz Belediye to state that all local residents that I have spoken with are gainst this venture.

I hope that everyone reading this has the same view as  have and I am sure that there are many strong feelings.  I think that very soon there should, or will, be some kind of protest physically and I hope that local people will support this.

Apologies for only laying on 13 pages in less than a week:
{A Link to an old CBF topic was here - no longer available}34365

I shall move this to Hisaronu forum, what with it having nothing to do with Calis.

Dear Jo

there are 13 pages of outrage in the following topic

Ölüdeniz to get its first dolphinarium link supplied in above post from Scunner and the topic started here by him too.

2 facebook  groups started as a result of this with about 3000 members in just a few days and many many people here have actively written, emailed and taken up this issue with campaign groups, the local council, the govnor and MPs of the region and much much more.

We all agree with your sentiments and individually are all doing anything we can to stop this...

I think you are missing the point.... The topic IS being discussed, over 13+ pages and if you read them you will see opinions arebeing aired. Therefore, rather than start a new discussion, join in on the original one

We are almost entirely against it here on CBF, as far as I know we had the story and condemned it long before any other forum or website in the area and we are happy to have as many pages of protests as there will be. Far from your opinion that it is not being discussed enough here, it has been discussed in depth on CBF for longer than anywhere else  :)

Scunner brought it to our attention when there was around 200 members there are now over 2000.  Roughly 500 people are  joining daily and anybody interested in doing anything are doing it through these sites.

There wasn't even a Facebook group when the story first appeared on CBF. We are doing our bit and more!!! Get me a dolphin suit and I'll go see the mayor!
