If you have a Turkısh M plate car and want to drıve ıt back to UK for a holıday what paperwork do you need to take ıt out of the country?

All you need is a Green Card which you can get from your insurance agent... ;D

I am lead to believe that to take an M plated car out of Turkey, in addition to the green card, you need a document which registers that you are out of the country and you must produce it on return. This document allows the car back into Turkey.

1. What is this document called?
2. Do I have to get this document at the border or can I get it from the local office of "
Türkiye Şoförler ve Otomobilciler Federasyonu"?

My frıends went to the offıce behınd the Passport Polıce and were told only a green card requıred. They are drıvıng back next week so we shall see.

Apollo, all you need is the insurance green card and your car documents.  What you are referring to is a temporary export licence which only applies to Turkish citizens if they want to take their car out of Turkey.  Trust me, we have taken our car out 5 times now.
