In the 80's or the 90's there was a slowish song with a Indian woman singing in the background, hindi style. Not much to go on but maybe someone out there will know. Its really bugging me.

No, that is more of an arab sound and it was a man. This was definitely a woman and I would say she was of Indian, Pakistani, or Hindu origins. It's not as if I can type in the words as they are unintelligible, LOL!! (well, to me they are)
