Absolutely tragic. All in pursuit of a prank. Awful.

I've just read about this and I'm horrified.  That poor woman, it's so sad that she felt she had to resort to this.  All for the sake of a cheap laugh.

It was a stupid prank.  Hospitals are busy places and someone claiming to be the Queen phones up.  How would any nurse be able to tell her they cannot give out information.
Tragic that this girl has been put in that position.
I also can't help but think of the ribbing from colleagues not to mention having to face hospital management must have really upset her.
No sense to the whole "prank"

I agree with all of the above comments. What was thought a good laugh has turned so tragic.

Yes it was a prank but how many people on here listened to the transcript and laughed when it was first put out??

Sorry Lance to use you but you are a prime example of what is wrong with this site!  The way you and others are demeaned by certain people is a disgrace IMHO!!!  The way threads are twisted to keep things going is clutching at straws for me!

I am sensible enough to just sit back with my crash helmet on and wait for the flak!  Yet again I will not post any further just sit back and read the comments.    ;)  ;)  ;)

a prime example of what is wrong with this site!

Sorry but more cheers rubbish I'm afraid.

There is nothing wrong with this site. You need to be able to distinguish between what is wrong with this site, and what might in your opinion be wrong with people who contribute to this site. The site does not post, members do.

Even if you can take that on board, you are still wrong. Lance is not an innocent bystander caught up in someone else's joke, he is a friend of ours who plays the part he does through choice (note the many uses he makes of "der" etc) - indeed, at one time we had a section purely for Lance to tell us stories of how his day went wrong - to which he contributed many appreciated stories. I believe that there is not one person who ribs Lance over his "playing the fool" style who wouldn't be the first to help if he needed it.

You need to compare CBF with other forums - some run by a pack of hungry hounds who savage anyone who dares to disagree with the board line. Or indeed Facebook, where I go from one message about someone's choice of breakfast cereal, to a photo someone has posted of an elephant with its head blown off, to someone replying 26 times to their own advert for a crappy ornament they want 50p for.

There is no comparison between anything you see on CBF and the tragic news of today. People who think this or that is "what is wrong with this forum" should spend a month running one.
