Title: Turkish conversation classed, intermediate level
Post by: migert123 on June 03, 2013, 10:46:59 AM
Does anyone have any recommendations for improving our spoken Turkish?

We had two Turkish teachers in the past and speak/understand quite a bit of daily-life-Turkish. We can get by with simple conversations, but still lack a lot of commonly used vocabulary and refined grammar.
Ideally, we'd like to join a conversation group, could be intermediate level, where our vocabulary would be broadened and our use of grammar would be corrected improved.

Any tips/recommendations of nice native speakers with good language teaching skills?

I assume from other posts that you did mean Calis.

If you are on Facebook Mahoney Aslan has a Turkish Lesson Page on there and runs a small group I think

However he may not be available in the summer months.

Try

Thanks for the tip, Highlander!
We meant Çalış, but we could also attend a course in Fethiye.

We will check Mahoney (is he Turkish??? Aslan suggests so, but not his first name) on Facebook.
No prob if there should be no courses in summer, we will not be here in July/August anyway.
We can sort our the details now and try to get into a conversation group when we are back in autum.

He is indeed Turkish - we have always know him as Mahoney although his real name may be Muhammer.
