Next up in the CBF reminiscing Series :D
Which bars and restaurants do you miss? I am sure 1000 votes for the Post Office but what others...
I would have to say the Susuz in Calis, always quiet but the food was fantastic, the Bus Stop was great especially in the early days and the incredibly classy for it's time Cafe Oley in Paspatur.
I have dozens more but will leave mine there :)

For restaurants it would be The Harem on the prom and, somewhere completely different, the one on the little road towards Scarletts that served amazing liver and onions (can't remember the name of it!) : :)

Miss The Harem which used to be where Motto Dining is now and more recently Bostans.

The Sardunya was one of our favourites also, but much preferred it when the owner had the little restaurant down the steps on the corner of the Dolphin roundabout. He did a mean takeaway there too. :)

I'm sure you'd know it, it was just before the restaurant on the corner, ran across the front of the apartments but it was 5 steps down from road level.

Yes, I thought that was where you meant Scunner but still can't remember Sardunya there!
It wouldn't have been before our time either as there was no dual carraigeway the first time we went to Calis. Just a waste ground if I remember rightly! :o

No it wasn't Sardunya there it was run by Cihan who moved and opened Sardunya - I did explain this :D

Now you've said that I can remember a restaurant there, but still never went in! ;)

La Terace - steak diane to absolutely die for.

Popeyes, mainly because there's nothing else like it.
There are good eating places all around to replace some of those we miss but Popeyes is/was one of a kind.
How the chap doing the cooking didn't end up in A and E when the sea was choppy I'll never know.

Yes they moved to the Kircicegi Cafe which is in the pedestrianised Dispanser area of Fethiye.

I have never had liver and onions anywhere cooked the way Cihan did. It was to die for

I still keep in contact with Cihan via Facebook, he has lived in Istanbul for quite a while now.

I miss in Calis, the Eyna, where the 3'Cs shop was underneath. Erhan and Nellie helped us so much. We always ended up having a few drinks (after work or course and sometimes during ;)and a laugh. Miss Cafe Soul, in the ole days when Russ, Dave Davey, Woody used to sing. Golden Moon, on our virgin visit, in Jan 2005. It was packed, illegal bingo or a quiz, encouraging to see a huge dining room, packed to the rafters. I had many questions. Prob will think of many more, in days to come...

I certainly miss the Scarlett Bar we knew when we first went to Calis - a great bar. :)
But I can't say that I miss what it became when you couldn't hear yourself think. :(

Same as Bee... Eyna.. Cafe Soul.. (had many a long long night in there)... Suzuz definately.. The food was amazing and Cenk bought us our first pide in there.. The Orient.. and The Orange Bar which was at The Orange hotel where we were staying when we first bough our place in Fethiye and Bostans where there was the lovely Recep and Carole. Roka Bar before the fire.. (devastating to lose a really good friend and a truly lovey woman...ina tragic fire..)

It has to be the "original?" Bus Stop....when we first started coming to Calis, we could always be sure we could find our Son in there playing pool and being taken care of....all we had to do was settle his bill.

I actually miss Ronnie's Irish bar on the front at Fethiye.

Mine has to be bizzie lizzys bar way back late 70s and later on the serefe bar on calis with sukru budak great times ,l played guitar with onur rakun at one of the bars down towards guvens now its metins bar ,and we still meet up there on our holiday

The original Palms, on the corner of the road leading to the upside down bridge. Dennis used to sing there. It was run by an English girl who came from Colchester. Really nice food. :)

We used to have quite a few meals there Sadler, so many restaurants open and close, you forget them.. We certainly will never go hungry in Calis

I miss walking past "Dennis the Menace" just because I didn't like the name ;D

Sardunya was good, their mantı was very delicious.
And Buffalo Steak House in Fethiye was good also.

Not closed down but The Sundial when it was run by Murat.. It was an amazing day out.

I seem to remember that Dennis’ voice got better as the evening progressed. Absolutely nothing to do with the alcohol! ;)

We also miss Fire and Wine which was probably Fethiye's first attempt at a wine bar. It was across from The Heads and opposite the trampoline park, which has also gone now.

Can I say the Kismet Bar? Nigel and Ian are sorely missed. Yes I know not Calis but they performed at dozens of Charity night in Calis.

I will never forget the first time I saw them perform. My sides ached with laughter. Sorely missed. ;D

Bostans & Eyna in Calis, Winehouse up the hill when we had the regular quiz nights there with Ian & Sener, happy memories of my years stay in Calis.

Some great times there. I remember them opening, a class team with Volkan, Murat, Teo, Savas, Commando etc. It was also a great place prior to that, when it was the Otantik with top head waiter Tony Bennett :D

We used to love Ak Deniz on the corner by the traffic lights where you turned to go to the Sunday Market. They did amazing pizza’s and beautiful garlic bread amongst other things. Really miss it they were a lovely family run restaurant all freshly cooked to order.

Really loved the 3Ms on the seafront when Mehmet and TC were there (where Casa Di Mama is now). They were a great team.
