I had him in my sights a couple of times but he was too quick for me.  ;)

The call to prayer from the new mosque is very, very loud.

Many need to bring ear defenders for our next visit.

Yes, we heard that you and Brenda get a bit rowdy when she's had a couple too many.  ;)

KKOB – I have to tell you that the present Mrs H has taken the strongest possible exception to your post.

As she harshly, but accurately points out it is always, without fail I who have had a couple too many. :( :-[ :( :-[

I was told by our hotel manager that the call to prayer comes via loudspeaker from the central mosque in Fethiye, notbdirectly from the mosque in Calis.  It is loud in the quiet of the early morning, around 3am.

It is very loud the first time I heard it, it was like he was standby at the bottom of the bed singing to me. I used earplugs for a few days after that, but you do get used to it.

Earlier in this thread, I was critical of people who moaned about the call to prayer.

I have to say that was before I had experienced it first hand.

It is exceptional loud - loud enough (just) to be heard up near Violet Apartments.

It would not surprise me that holidaymakers who stay in the area around the mosque for the first time might be put off from paying a returning visit.

Just my opinion.
