Title: Renewal of residency permit
Post by: Aintree on April 24, 2017, 15:30:21 PM
Are other members experiencing a delay in the issue of a renewal residency permit. We have heard it can be up to six weeks at present due to demand?

Yes Aintee,
In winter it takes just 7-10 days to get your residency cards but in these days it takes 4-6 weeks. We asked to officers about the problem and they told that there is too much applications and there is nothing to do to get it earlier.

It's reassuring to know that the delay is due to a general problem of demand. Beats me why this is, when everywhere you read, ex pat's are leaving Turkey. Thanks for the update though.

Aintree there are some of the holiday home owners (I know of 3) that take out residency & usually at the begining of the season. Think it goes back to the start of the 90 / 180 day visas.

That makes sense Liz, thanks. I am still waiting for my new 2 year permit, four weeks after submission, but will keep what you say in mind when applying next time.

We were chasing ours up yesterday. Apparently there is a lot of applications being processed and an additional problem getting the new residency cards printed up. But nothing to worry about we were told....
