My friend and her mum are currently out at Nicholas Heights Deluxe.
Pasted below is what happened to them last night ??? :o ???
This is priceless and could only happen to me, order my mum a birthday cake through hotel reception and obviously I have to pay for it which I don't mind, so waiters bring the cake last night and everyone sings happy birthday including the guests, he then cuts 2 slices of the cake for me and my mum and takes the cake away as I think to put in the fridge, so I ask for the rest of the cake this morning so I can give a bit to the maid etc after about 4 phone calls from the reception girl to kitchen etc she tells me their is no cake left the chefs etc ate it!!!!!! Cheeky b*****ds I say I pay quite a lot of money for a cake to get 2 slices and they greedy b*****ds decide to eat the rest without even asking, never order a cake in Turkey!!!!!! Rant over

Actually thats a bit normal.
You dole out the bits you want and then send it to the kitchen for the staff.
-
That's outrageous Toky! Cheeky sods!
-
She was gobsmacked as they'd charged her quite a lot for a really small cake. I did think it was cheeky too but hey ho, it seems as though that's the norm. Well I hope they all enjoyed it anyhow! Lol

Most of the local places never charge for a celebration cake. It's usually given as a gift when you book your table and tell the restaurant that it's a birthday etc.,
Last year a group from my son's wedding party booked a table at George's for 8.00pm. At 6.00pm we found out it was one of the party's birthday. My son and his wife went down and told them at Georges. When we arrived the table was decorated there where balloons etc., and after the meal a large cake was produced complete with candles. We all had a piece. Fireworks where also let off. There was no charge for the cake.
-
But £50 for the fireworks? :)
-
Very cheeky , i would speak to them and try to get some refund ..
-
Spongers!
-
Fireworks free...cheeky ;D :o also an ice cream at the end of the party that was asked for by a 10 year old... We asked how much it was,as we had paid the bill, but we where told "no charge". ;) ;D
-
I'd have Battenburg'd 'em.
-
Spongers ha ha ha!!! She said they chaged her the equivelant of £16 and the cake was VERY small

This is so unacceptable and definately 'not the norm!'I've known someone in the hotel/restaurant trade for over 20 years and he would NEVER give someones birthday cake to the staff, unless all the guests had been served and the birthday person gave their permission for the remains of the cake to be given away.I've known him to wrap up the remains of a cake and give it to the guests who ordered it.

If it was anything like the cake presented to Hilary for one birthday then the chefs did your mum a favour. The "pasta" had the consistency of sawdust and, I imagine, a similar taste.
