I believe the prices in Calis are far too high, I spent 10 days in Santorini and spent far less that i normally spend in Calis

And was eating and drinking out every night

I normally pay 11 lira at my local. The 30 lira bottle is in places like Reina or Sortie. You should see how much a bottle of vodka costs. They also want 15 lira just for nuts there and the place is packed nearly everynight with around 2 or 3 thousand people.
Drinking down south is dirt cheap and unbelievable. You guys have it good down there believe you me.

A friend of mine and his family have just returned from Izmir, their first time in Turkey and were stunned at the high prices, £4 for a beer £3 for a lemonade ect and have decided that they wont be going back to Turkey again, could it be Turkey is beginning to price itself out of the holiday market by charging so much?

In Spain 2 weeks ago we were paying £1.30 for a large San Miguel which I think is a smoother better drink than Efes.
You could also and we did 3 times during our stay have a very nice 3 course Chinese or Indian meal.Starter/Dinner/Desert/Plus Half Bottle Wine or Large Beer/Plus Snapps or Coffee (and they leave the Snapps bottle on the table)
Toatal Cost Per Person 5 Euros.  Roughly £4.
