New Regulations on Private Dogs

Oh my.
Well we already have this system in Dalyan - but this is a small place.
It simply will not work if dogs have to be taken to the shelter AND owners are expected to return seperately for their tags.
It is a great scheme Andy BUT as KKOB says this is going to have to be taken to the community to be fully effective in such a large area.
Possibly either through the local vets or a van at specific points on certain days?
Also how are you going to ensure new owners in the future are aware of the rules?
Here one has to supply the dogs veterinary papers and if one lives in a semi rural area then a lecture on rabies comes attached with the tag.
Well done for at least trying to resolve the issues!

Do you have to make an appointment or can you just turn up to get your dog registered? And I take it that it is the sanctuary on the Uzumlu road that you go to [?]

Well I think its a great step forward and welcome any legislation that make owners responsible for their animals. Maybe if it is known what dog lives where they can start to clamp down on the noise pollution also. :)

The best time to go is afternoon between 2-4pm and the good news is you don't have to take your dog! just vet documents and the tags are now there.

That's such a good idea I might get one, and I don't even have a dog!

is it only for private owned dogs that roam the streets or is it for the dogs that are also house pets. as i have a dog who we brought over from england, do we have to get him tagged as he only goes in the garden or for a walk on a lead ??
