Are You Still Going?

ISIL, PKK, Police Brutality, Migrants in Transit, the list goes on. Will it put you off visiting in 2016?

I'd like two votes. Only FCO advice would deter me and Hilary. But we are also taking my granddaughter, daughter and her husband and a serious escalation in tourist areas or targeting of flights would make me reconsider taking them. I haven't yet worked out what I mean by "serious". Attacks in Antalya and Marmaris in earlier years haven't deterred us but things migh get worse than that. So I have voted in the escalation category.

Understandable. But you still can't have two votes :D

Perhaps a separate poll diverbaz? I'd be an interested observer of that.

Typical Welsh. Can I vote "Yes" and "No" just to make sure I'm on the winning side ?  ;)

No.  I'm due to be in Istanbul a couple of times over the next eight weeks or so and am sorting out flights just now.

Saying that, if the FCO advice changes then I will have a decision to make as my current travel insurance will automatically become invalid for Turkey.  Thats really the only sticking point.

Yesterday's bombing brought it home to me with a bit of a bump.  It happened a couple of hundred yards away from the James Joyce, a place I've used often enough to watch football on Sky - its a bit of dump, but they do show the SPFL matches which a lot don't.  I couldn't count how often I've walked that stretch of Istiklal, both during the day and at night.

We were there during the 2003 bombings when the consulate (and other places) were hit, but this one just seems a lot closer to home.

It's a poll about taking holidays in Turkey. It's not all about you Baz :D
