Crown Green Bowling Open Day
« on: October 29, 2018, 15:54:01 PM »
When I first joined the forum quite a long time ago now there was often posts from people wanting a bowling lawn.

Although Crown Green Bowling is slightly different there is one in Çalış (not sure how long it's been there) but there is quite a big spread on Page 24 of the current Land of Lights and featured on the front cover.

Apparently  it's the only one in Turkey and they are holding an open day, Wednesday 31st October, 11-2pm.

It is also the only English Sporting Club that has attained Association status.

The Fethiye Bowling Association (FBA) can be found by looking through the gate of Oky's Garden Restaurant and no doubt Google Maps can locate that for you if you're interested in going along.

After it had moved from it's original location, Robin & went along and were invited have a game or two. We are lawn bowlers, but had such a lot of fun playing on a crown green. Popped in several times since and it's been good to watch the club growing. if we lived thgere, we'd certainly be members.  :)

Meant to say the club has been in its current location since 2011 ish. It moved from it's previous location up by upside down bridge, if my memory serves me well  :)
