tinks you made me laugh - I would like to reserve the 3 bed with ensuite pls.

Back on topic - we spent a wonderful morning/afternoon in Kaya, it was quite erie walking round, we stummbled on a very nice restuarnt called something like Sacenc (KKOB you might know the true name) they were very friendly and we had a delicious meal there.

I also took some pics & I am planning to have them made into that photo canvas thing. I thought they would make lovely pics for the wall in our place.

If anyone hasn't gone i would rdcommend them to visit.

Lovely evocative photos, its a lovely peaceful place. Has anyone read 'Birds without wings'? I know its fiction but it really brings the place alive.

Hi Lorraine,

Was it called SARNIC? Up a lane where the white pillars are at the junction of said lane and the main road? The manager has long hair in a pony tail?

Lorraine confirms that the restaurant is indeed called Sarnic - it is actually owned by my business partner Birol (although sadly that doesn't make the restaurant half mine!!) and we have had some amazingly tranquil times up there. It is a hidden treasure, with fantastic food, sadly maybe a little too hidden!

The photo's I posted were all taken from the gardens of the restaurant, or immediately outside.

On the same subject, Lorraine STILL can't post photographs  ;) so here is another for the Kaya collection taken by her good self...

C1 approx 4 and half thousand sq metres is an acre so KKOB has about 3 half acres (lucky so and so) KKOB we met a few times in the winter when we did our hash runs from the Istanbul restaurant. Basically we are a group of people who go for a run/walk of 5 -6 kilometres by following a trail that someone has set. Then we have a meal and a few beers afterwards to wash out the dust etc. Good way to see the countryside and to meet new people and....  oh yes keeping fit!!

Our house is on the Belen side of Kaya, about 2 miles, on the  opposite side of the plain, from the stables.

I have birds without wings on a CD set and we listened to it in the evenings on one of our cooler spring holidays.  It is in Turkey at the moment but we are out there in 3 weeks and can pass it on if anyone wants it.

Your house looks lovely KKOB and I must confess that we have not been to Kaya yet but we will have plenty of time in the future.

The little church on the hill in your second picture.  My mad sister made us all walk up there.  Must admit when I got my breath back it was worth it for the view.

I love Kaya.  That is what you call a terrace Alan. Some pad. One of these days I would like to own in Kaya. At the moment, whilst we have children and all of our friends are family orientated and we are looking to rent, we feel our place in Ovacik is great and fits the purpose, but one of these days, who knows, we may be your neighbours.............

That is a great looking house you have there KKOB, I have stayed in smaller hotels!

I like the picture of the church Keith, but I wish thay would take some steps to restore or preserve the wonderful floor which is made up of thousands and thousands of pebbles, all collected from the local beach and laid by hand to make some striking patterns. Unfortunately the floor is now being eroded and people are taking the stonesas souveneirs.

If you look at my website at http://www.bill-mckelvie.co.uk/ and scroll down to "Ghost Town" on the menu you will see a page of photos of Kaya. It's a place I visit a lot and have many moe recent pictures (including the new camel farm!) so I must update it soon.
