:o Anyone flown with Pegasus to Dalaman. Hoping to fly from Manchester next June. Are they reliable, well as reliable as any airline cam be ;)
Looking at some that have great flight times..at the moment. and at a reasonable price. Unless you have any better suggestions..
Thanks
Bernie

We fly regularly from London to Dalaman and in my experience they offer a good service.
As long as you don't mind the stop over in Istanbul it's good value and for approximately £3 extra you can include suitcases.
You will need to ensure you have a minimum 1 hour stop over as you do need to go through security again at Istanbul.
Just be sure not to buy your duty free until Istanbul.

We bought duty free at Manchester last year going via Istanbul. They put them in sealed see through bags.

stopover..I thought it was direct..back to the drawing board : :) What happened to onur air?

Bankrupt

It was direct on skyscanner, however it has gone up in price. I quite liked flying onur air. Thanks for help, as long as I don't have to stopover I,ll use them. ;D

We have flown Pegagus from Aberdeen to Dalaman. Thomas Cook subcontract to Pegagus. We found them far better than T.C. and not in your face sellng all the time.
-
There are direct flights from Manchester in the summer, so no stop over in Istanbul.
-
Ahh my mistake, I have never seen Pegasus direct from London so assumed they all went via Istanbul.
Direct is so much better of course.

The Stansted flight continues to Ercan, the airport in Northern Cyprus, so has to stopover at an airport on mainland Turkey first. This is because no other country , but Turkey, recognises N Cyprus, so no airline is allowed to fly directly to Ercan.

Bankrupt
You sure about that? Still flying this morning :)

To clarify, I may have declared the wrong company bankrupt! I meant Aegean Airways who provided the Onur flights from the UK to Turkey.

So many airlines gone under not surprised you were confused Keith. Memories flood back to XL and Turkish/Cypriot (Kibris) ahh!!
-
Many CBFers will recall the joys. 4 returns to UK for £560 in August. No wonder they went bust!!
-
Oh and Turkish Cyprus were fabulous too Dave!

Having just booked Dec flights with TC I was surprised on reading confirmation that because they were operated (as fromNov 22nd 2015)by T.C Airlines Ltd(flight codes TCX or MT)they will not be financially protected by th ATOL scheme.
They state, flights with other airlines maybe protected by Thomas Cook Tour Operations Ltd (Atop number 1179)and that this will be confirmed as part of the booking process. If you do not receive an ATOL certificate then your booking will not be ATOL protected.
I booked through Quidco and transferred to ..https://www.thomascookairlines.com/end/cheap-flights/index.sup
I thought the booking would have been automatically covered by ATOL so whether T C having problems again?
Any thoughts or info would be appreciated.

Easyjet flights only bookings through the Easyjet site are not ATOL covered. Bookings through travel agents have cover. Websites only have cover if the company has joined the ATOL scheme. This is what Easyjet say:
Does easyJet have an ATOL/ABTA number? We do not have an ATOL or ABTA number.ABTA numbers are for members of the Association of British Travel Agents and ATOL is a protection scheme that does not apply when you book directly with an airline. If you book your flights or holiday via a travel agent or other third party ask them for their ABTA or ATOL numbers.
I make sure I always use a credit card to book with non-ATOL companies..

Many thanks for the info Colwyn that's very assuring. On this occasion the confirmation I believe must have come from Germany, as I was addressed as HERR Not Mr...and a point was made that the ATOL info was only put in place only on 22nd this month. So this did act as a wake up call!! Yes I also pay by credit card normally.

So is this a good price 360.66 for 2people with 20kgs and EL seats, 2 weeks end of June. Good flight times too..gosh if I take seats off, It will be less than £300, think I answered my own question ;D
-
We could easily have to pay that for one :(
-
I, m trying to do damage limitation. If I book everything without the bags and extras, I, ll have good cheap flights if we go and can add all the stuff after. If not it wont be so much to lose ..decisions, decisions :-\
-
As I understand it you will only lose if you decide not to go.
If things deteriorate and the Foreign Office advice is not to fly then you will get your money back.
-
Really, that's great thanks ;D

Our flights in June 2016 from Bristol = £811. But these are not "returns" - single out to Milas-Bodrum and single home via Dalaman. But Bristol is always expensive. It's not just Scotland!
