I am pondering rubbish (as usual). What was a codger? The definition is an elderly person but that surely isn't the definition. It must have meant something in it's own right and then became adopted as a name for doddery folk?

So, what was a codger originally :D ?

I've always associated Codgers as people prepared to make short cuts.

They get married , loose interest in how they look because they are married and have a partner, they settle down to be old. Then there are the people who are forever young and never think about their age. Age is a number to them.
I know quite a few people in both categories.

Incidentally, I didn't say I would never return to Turkey; just that I wouldn't be holidaying there while the government was still routinely torturing people held in prison.
