This photo appeared on a post from "One Time" (whoever they are) on that other place.
Thing is I cannot ever remember those trees being in front of Letoon.

Well there was definitely 2 guys trimming them when i was there having a drink a couple of weeks ago.... :)

There is big business in palm trees, there were often adverts for them for sale - tall ones fetch big money :o No idea how they get them from A to B though.

Hi Highlander just want to say that you are correct, I also don't know where the palm trees came from in that photo as myself and my family stayed at the Letoon for many years from 2000 up until the latest owners bought it which I think was about 2014/15. Just to make sure my eyes were were not deceiving me I got out all my old photos and there definitely were not any trees like that on them - so I don't know how they got there!!!

Must apologise I have looked again at some photos taken in 2014 and funnily enough they are there then, but in the photos taken in 2000 they definitely aren't, so the mystery deepens. I am sure they would take many years to reach the height they are now.

They transplant them when they're about 20 -30 feet tall. If I remember correctly a huge number of the trees lining the road from Calis into Fethiye were imported from Egypt in the mid-2000s.

Just had a look back at some of my bike vidios - the first time they appeared was April 2015 looking fairly scrawny at that time.

I don't think we have stayed at Letoon since 2014 but did have a very nice meal with Pete and Chrissie in the Grapefruit restaurant and I don't remember them (the trees) being there then :-\ :-\ :-\

Well we know that as Ian has already confirmed they first appeared in 2015. From that I assumed they weren't there in 2013 but thanks for pointing it out :D
