Well today was the exchange of contracts (yippee) and completion day is on the 10th April
Booked the international movers after getting loads of quotes and they arrive on Tues 2nd April to pack all our worldly belongings ready to go on the container on Thurs to arrive 4 -5 weeks later in our new home in Uzumlu.
It feels like there is finally light at the end of the tunnel after trying to sell our place for 9 months and planning this move for 3 years, but its all falling into place just at the right time.
Next job book the ferry & overnight stops, as we have decided to drive over leaving on 26th April with our dog Tizz. Her jabs etc are all done, Defra have contacted the vet and after 1 last visit next week she will have her pet passport and all other jabs and paper work for Turkey.
We will arrive on 31st April and the container arrives on 3rd or 4th of May, so after a trip to Izmir to clear through customs we should have our furniture delivered a few days later, Inshallah.
We will keep a record of the journey as I have not read any others that included a pet dog so it should be an intersting excersize.
It's all happening at once and with Eric out of the country till April 20th (missed all the stress clever man) I hope my stress levels can cope but at least at the end of it we will be able to sit on our balcony(with a bottle or 2) gazing over the village and mountains and begin to enjoy our retirement in Turkey.
Thanks to all those on this site that have given us advice and contacts over the last few months and we hope to meet you all one day for an Efes (whisky & coke for Scunner)and will keep you updated on our progress.
Wickwilly get those beers ready and thanks to you and Tukan once more.
Fi & Eric
