Electric Meter
« on: January 16, 2008, 07:06:23 AM »
We have a digital elec meter with three rates 10pm-8am Low 8am-1pm high and 1pm-10pm normal (I think).  Compared to our neighbours house which is larger and has a bigger pool their bills are considerably lower than ours.  They have a normal rate meter.  Any ideas how I could change our meter.  Couldnt get to first base with Tedas my fault cos of the langua

I think you'll find that the highest rates for electricity are between 5pm and 10pm.

You should have the price advantage over your neighbours if you stick to using things like dishwashers and washing machines during the night. If you've bought them in the last few years they are almost certain to have a means of setting and delaying the start of a programme until the low tariff comes into force.

Yep the washing machine etc goes on after 10pm and the immersion heater goes on before 8am also the pool pump in the summer. Thanks KKOB for the correct high rate time.
