Thats worth knowing KKOB. We went to the pork shop to take note of a few prices before we went to Rhodes and were told that they were no longer able to stock corned beef as it had become an illegal product

LOL, probably just a case of they had none in stock, but didn't want you to go looking for it anywhere else that might be cheaper till they replenished their stock. I bet you that the next time you go in they will have some, and when you remind then they told you it was illegal, they will tell you that they made a mistake W.E.G ( wicked, evil grin)

I went to the British shop in Fethiye last week and they had corned beef in stock.

You have to be careful who serves you in there though, because if the woman in there serves you and doesn't know you she will charge you 10TL.She tried it with me last year and I told her to keep it, as I had bought it a couple of weeks before at 7.5TL.I now pay 7.5TL all the time.

I think it's called Tugem, by the Huner baker.Opposite the fruit and veg wholesalers.
