US Consulate & Polis station attacked

Not a good weekend for Turkey. 

One polis killed and several injured after the polis station in Istanbul was bombed early this morning and in a separate attack, shots fired at the US consulate. 

I can remember when they US moved out to Yenikoy after the 2003 bombings - according to to a few US Marines I knew at the time, they reckoned the new consulate was "invincible".  We simply laughed at their naivety.

This is going to do nothing to improve people's perceptions of Turkey; attacks on Turkish site and US site.
