  It has been announced today that traditional New Year hampers, sold across Turkey as gifts will no longer be able to include alcohol.!!

  Thin edge of the wedge.??         Reported in todays HDN.

I think the thin edge was inserted quite a long time ago with restrictions on alcohol sale within the vicinity of schools and mosques, alcohol advertizing and alcohol taxes. He's just banging in the wedge a bit further.

A Turkish tea company that made a TV commercial advertising their Iced Tea has been

fined  Tl 220,000 for mocking Ayran' drinks.!!  The adverts have been banned.

On who's orders I wonder.?   Ironically the tea company is state owned.
