To be honest I didn't read any bad stuff she had wrote on here, but I did see some people being mean to her. Maybe, they had reason to as she had been mean to her in the past, who knows.  : :)

You started this thread John.  Please don't expect me to believe that you didn't know exactly how it would turn out.

I agree..

Recent posts on this have been disappointing to say the least.

What did you expect?

Personally speaking, I'm not sure what your motive was in starting this topic, "just for fun" doesn't cut it with me.

I honestly can't think of a topic like this ever on CBF, one basically designed to stir the sh1t over an existing member of CBF, so please don't complain that some posts are "disappointing" when you knew full well what many members reaction would be to your little quiz.

Did you do it just so you could "be offended" at the resulting responses?  I'm sure folks would love to know.

JH is still a member of CBF and can resume posting whenever she wants - although its unlikely given the circumstances of her self imposed exile from CBF.

Anne is correct, maybe you wouldn't have been so quick to remind everyone of her if your wife had been on the receiving end of her vitriol, as Colwyn was on more than one occasion.

I'm having a right chuckle to myself reading these posts. The woman has not posted for ages and is still causing bother.  ;D ;D

Am I the only one who wonders what a new or prospective member of this forum would make of this thread?

I imaglne that they would be horrified and possibly never come back. In these days of decreased traffic to the forum I would have thought this is not the best advert.

I am not saying that there is no place for robust debate but this has gone beyond that.

I am especially uneasy that a couple of moderators have also joined in when I was under the impression that they are supposed to be impartial.

Moderators (and Admins) are allowed opinions on CBF, just the same as any other member.

I suspect Keith has left this topic open to give Highlander the right to reply, he then may, or may not, consign it to the waste bucket and I agree with you, that is where it ultimately belongs.

Being a moderator did not prevent us from abuse by a certain member so why should we not be allowed to voice our opinions too?

I will grant you that my post wasn't a nice one, but, that is me.  I say it exactly how I see it be it on here or in person.  So, you takes me or you leaves me   :)

I would also point out that Highlander has been on the forum, and, no doubt read all of these replies but has decided for reasons unknown not to comment further which I find a bit strange considering he started this thread.

I agree with John, it's time to lock it up and put it to bed as it was in very bad taste in the first place

A couple of points then I will indeed stick this in the bucket...

1. I am aware that JH isn't some people's favourite person but one thing she certainly doesn't need is anyone fighting her corner. She is not banned, she has not told me she has left CBF, nor have I asked if she has, and she has not contacted me in regard to anything on here, even though we are in touch and always have been, on Messenger etc. She is free to reply and has chosen not to (assuming she knows about the topic).

2. It is only open still to allow that right to respond and maybe Highlander to do likewise - as it isn't likely I will lock it after this reply.

3. I don't see our role as admins/moderators to lock topics we don't like or don't agree with. You can see from many local Fethiye groups the amount of locked topics and opinions shut down there can be - our lock percentage is tiny and a very last resort.

4. I have never claimed or suggested in any way that admins and mods are impartial. Far from it, I actively looked for strong personalities with strong opinions to join the team. I simply cannot see how having a team that don't have opinions (or have opinions they can't share) would ever work on a discussion forum.

Ok so, all that needed to be said appears to have been said so the forum that rarely locks is now locking this topic.

Be nice - rip lumps out of each other but do it with respect, class and panache   ;)
