Title: Road Tax

Has anyone paid this in Koca Calis? Not sure if we need to bring an extra wad out or not this year.

That was for the road at the top I think. Maybe they will build more?

Hi Stoop, we paid our council tax today in Ciftlik.  No request for road tax payment but as opposed to being 67TL last year for our council tax we were 167 TL this year.  There is addtional charges for refuse collection and the blue numbers we got on our houses.

Hi Stoop - just out of interest we paid ours in Fethiye yesterday.
Up from 77 YTL to 80 YTL but just to show there is no conspiracy theory there was a Turkish lady in front of me very upset that hers was 350 YTL up from 35 YTL and a Scottish chap behind me from Deliktas (near the prison he said) who paid 27 YTL but was expecting the worse!

I have also been told that when they do the roads near us they will lay mains drains (currently we don't have that luxury) and the increase is a contribution to updating the services.

Seems fair to me.

I just had word from one of my neighbours and they paid their council tax last week - 75ytl and no mention of any road tax.

I paid my council tax in the middle of April and I wasn't asked to pay any road tax either.
Our apartment in in Akarca.

Akarca is under Fethiye Belediye not Ciftlik so unless your property was purchased after 2008 you will get a bill for Road Tax,unless your really lucky. :)

Paid my council tax in march and was charged additional road tax for the first time - my apartment is near the new bit or road at the end of the beach

Not sure where that is in Koca Calis. Can you explain a little more please. Did you pay your tax in Ciftlik?
