Could anyone please recommend a decent map of the area that i can get on amazon etc for the Fethiye and surrounding area please? We re actually hiring a car this next visit (gary s drivng :) and we want to do some sightseeing other than on the dolmus :)
The one I was just looking at on amazon was 2003 !!

If you hire a car they will give you maps. All the maps we have in our Villa (quite a few now) were all freebies. Also Google Earth is very good.
We have found the maps we have very useful and never needed anything more.
If you do hire a car can recommend Fethiye Lovers.. We have used them for years now. They are nice and handy in Calis.

We hired a car last time through Dalaman Cars. Great company, nice car and helpful people, BUT the map they gave us was so bad it was really quite funny. Sounds like we need to hire a car through Fethiye Lovers next time Jacqui. Top tip.
Google Earth is fabulous for giving you more idea of where places are in relation to each other in advance of getting there. I'd recommend that Amanda. Especially if you or Gary has a good sense of direction and memory for routes.

Mozaik Bahce Restaurant in Fethiye had a good free map of the area & a guide to places to visit in the area if you had a car

The Fethiye Tourist Information Office usually has some good free local maps, and would fully recommend the "MUGLA" info book which is full of brilliant trips maps and info local to Fethiye and all parts of Mugla, also available at the TI was about 10 TL. The information in the book is second to non. The Euro Map Turkey from UK is the most accurate to cover all of Turkey. :)

Much improved version of Scunner's map without the glaring omission.

Fabulous Suzz - well done you to spot that error on the map.
-
glad you left a nice gap, we don't want to be too close to the others now
-
;D ;D ;D Perfect.
-
Aye keep the Ciflik riff raff a fair distance away. ;)
We bought a cheap map (about 6 tl) from one of the small shops by the banks in Fethiye that was good enough. Dont expect too much though Amanda accuracy is not that good from what I saw.

Most of the petrol stations have maps for sale or to give away but, who needs a map when there's a woman in the car. ;)
-
Just don't expect the road signs to confirm what the map appears to be showing :)
-
haha thank you all very much, very entertaining as well as informative. :)

Bring a sat nav with you.

Those maps are way out of date, there's no upside down bridge, it's the new right way up bridge now.
