May I just update as to where I have reached concerning trying to transfer GBP from my GARANTI  GBP account to my GBP UK account

As explained earlier owing to my ill health we are unable to get to Calis

Taking advice from KKOB we arranged to obtain a POA to act on our behalf
Thro our POA we managed to open a GARANTI nternet banking account
Unfortunately the type of internet account does not allow INTERNATIONAL transfers
We were looking to enable a SWIFT transfer

We are presently trying to arrange a change to the type of internet account we have

Special thanks to Karenina and Lissa for their kind gestures

Meanwhile we have tried to transfer using TRANSFERWISE
To transfer GBP direct from our GARANTI GBP account to GBP in our UK account

We could not find a way to do this - so we contacted TRANSFERWISE
This is their response:

Thank you for your e-mail and I hope you’re doing well.

Since we operate via local bank transfers, then we cannot receive GBP from a bank account located in Turkey. We can only accept TRY.

If you would like to hold this money in your GBP Borderless account, then you simply need to go to Balances > GBP > Add GBP and follow the steps to top up this account. Then, when you feel like the rate has gotten better, or when you’re ready, you can transfer this money out to your personal GBP bank account by going to Balances > GBP > Send GBP.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let us know – we’d be happy to help.

Have a great day!

Can anyone advise me further?
We are struggling with what we thought would be a simple transaction
