Food in shops or to eat out?

Best Rose we found this year was called Lykia Rose. You can get it in the supermarkets for about 24tl.

Which presumably will be 28tl now with the increase.

It depends what you want to cook really.
Meat can be expensive, but I've found the quality so much better then here in OK so worth it.  I don't buy loads to stock the fridge though, I've learned from experience that I intend to cook but don't so buy as I need it.  Fruit, veg, chicken, yoghurt and eggs from the market are all cheap enough too.

The more we visit the less time we spend searching out somewhere for an evening meal and often grab a couple of chicken wraps, have a pizza or something from the local lokanta delivered and just chill on our terrace with a bottle or two of wine.  Just as cheap as eating in and no cooking   :)

Veg are not as cheap as they were.. Onions 5tl a kilo potatoes 6 lira a kilo.. Only cheap because of the exchange rate. Unfortunately those who live there (locals) don't benefit from it.. Inflation is 15.6%.  I have friends who live there (Turkish and English) who can't afford to buy meat now..Like I said ok for the holiday makers who are getting over 6 lira to the pound.

Very true.  While a weakened lira is good for tourists (at the moment) it's worth remembering that the minimum wage in Turkey is just over 1,600tl per month, with a lot of folks having to survive on less than that as they work in the black (cash in hand) economy.
