Title: Nevada Massage.
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on May 17, 2015, 16:51:12 PM
After advise here from Usedbustickets.  Phil went and booked a massage (for his back) at the Nevada. Took us ages to get there because we kept avoidng the newly laid tarmac and were dodging down roads until we found the ones with no tar on them.
Anyway, he has booked for tomorrow.  The receptionist said it is £25.00  Phil said he is willing to pay that if it is good, but personally, I think that sound a bit expensive.
Anyone else think so?

Its definately cheaper than the UK, but I agree sounds a little expensive to me.  I have had massages at the Oykun a few times, though not recently & dont recall paying anywhere near £25, that included use of the sauna and massage 50mins or so.

That does seem expensive to me, when I last went last year it was 50TL (rough guess then £14/15) for a more expensive 'specialist' back massage.  So £25 sounds bloody ridiculous to me, and they wont see me this year, or any of our visitors, if they are going to charge that amount!!  Question is the £25 for a Turkish Bath and Massage??  Even that is getting to be in the expensive range though?

last summer my friend and I booked massages at the Nevada I opted for an aromatherapy one which I think was in the region of £15 maybe £20. My friend opted for I think it was called a lympthatic drainage massage which if my memory serves me correct was £50!
We knew the prices when we booked as they are on a leaflet in reception so that is fair enough but what really did grate with me was the "masseur lady" did not seem to know what this was once the massage commenced, also when we compared notes after the £50 massage did not appear to have been carried out any differently to my Aromatherapy one, I did leave with a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth as I did feel like a service was being offered that no one was able to carry out, they probably felt like we were right suckers and felt like the golden goose had laid the egg when we went to pay...
Hope Phil enjoys his tomorrow Jacqui  :)

Having to pay £ 50.00 for a massage, whatever it was called, would make me more tense than when I went in  ;)

Phil had the massage today.  It was £16.00 not £25.00.  So perhaps the receptionist was thinking in Euros.
Phll said the place looked a bit shabby and tired.  He was not particularly impressed with the massage and said he would not bother to go back.  It was an older woman that did the massage.

Was it an older woman quite skinny Jacqui if so that s who we had...
The season before there was a lovely couple running the spa there, I think they were German, the lady did a very thorough Turksh bath and I remember thinking some time later thst my tan lasted ages that summer..

Yes Karen that was her.  I saw her when Phil booked.
He has now found another person for a Massage. She is in Fethiye and recommended by friends we have there. So will let you know how this one goes.

I thought it probably was no disrespect to the lady but the German couple were great, though I was very unsure when she said to me re my bikini top "off", :P

My daughter went to the Nevada last year with her friends when the German couple were there and she totally loved it.
On her recommendation the missus went this year instead of her usual visit to the Oykun.
I should have said something when I found out that the German couple were no longer there.
Result.........
Back to the Oykun next time. (All my fault apparently)

Phil got a massage at Gold Finger in Ovacik and he was totally impressed, said it was the best he has every had. The girl gave him a real work out.   He is going back in September for another massage.  The girl is a qualified Masseuse.

My daughter and son-in-law had a massage and sauna at the Oykun when we were there in early June.  They paid £10 each and were highly satisfied with the experience and the price.  Although we were guests at the hotel you can call at Reception as a visitor and book a time slot with Goldie.  Enjoy your stay at Calis.

I had a Turkish bath here about 10 days ago OMG the masseur lady only got naked after she had done my Turkish bath and happily went round switching off the sauna etc!
