Are there any English language schools in Fethiye?
I don't mean schools for the English - rather where Turks can learn English.
I'd like to work if I move out there - a spot of extra cash handy, and it extends the social circle beyond the pool and bar.
Thanks,
-
Mark
They teach English in all the schools - thats why they all speak it so well

Mark,
dont forget you will need a work permit.
-
Is a work permit easy to come by?
-
In a word no, you have to have a job to get a work permit and vice versa, I believe its complicated. There are also jobs that are not open to foreigners. Look at the search facility and you will find lots of info.

Hi Mark,
I think I'm right in saying you need a job offer in order to get a work permit, but the offer of work will be questioned and your prospective employer will have to show good reason for not hiring a Turk.

Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem - perfectly legit for a language school to want a certain number of native speakers. There are certainly at least hundreds of British ESL teachers in Turkey - just a matter of whether there are any in Fethiye.
Thanks

Have you got your ESOL qualification?
-
Mark, these may be of some use to you. Good luck.

yes got the qualification and some years teaching esol in the UK in an FE college so refs and everything too. apart from the money, thought a p/t job is a good way to plug into a different community, help get rooted in an additional way.
