New security requirements on flights from Turkey and Egypt
01/08/2017
We can confirm that, following the updated advice from the UK Government, we will be lifting the security restrictions on Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) and will be implementing new additional security measures on our flights from Turkey from Wednesday 2 August 2017.
This means that on our flights from Turkey customers will be able to take their electronic devices into the cabin. The devices may be subject to extra security measures and need to be fully charged when getting to the airport.
We will contact customers travelling on these routes from Wednesday directly to inform them about the changes.
Customers should be aware that the security restrictions on Personal electronic devices on easyJet flights from Hurghada in Egypt remain in place. This means that passengers flying from Egypt are not permitted to take large personal electronics, such as kindles, tablets and laptops into the cabin of aircraft and additional security checks will be undertaken. On these flights we advise passengers to go to Bag Drop to check in any electronic items into their hold luggage.
The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.
For further information we recommend passengers log onto to the Department for Transport page at GOV.uk
