Hello from Sue & Edward
« on: June 09, 2004, 23:22:30 PM »
Hello to everyone !

This is our first posting.

Our names are Sue & Edward and we live in a village South of Norwich.

We are currently in the process of buying a new build villa at Ovacik
which has a completion date of Feb next year.

Because the villa is in the stage where it sits as built up to the
roof and has just started to be wired. I have submitted to the
estate agent/builder a requested layout for the kitchen.
(we were able to do all the measurements of the kitchen space)

I was wondering if anyone else had been in the same situation and
how accommodating I could expect the builder to be.

Also I dont like the small round sinks that are usual in a Turkish
kitchen and was wondering if its possible to get a square undermounted stainless sink instead.
(Just to squeeze a bit more use out of the small space available)

Are any of the better known uk brands of sinks are available in Fethiye/Turkey [?] :)

Sue

Hello Sue...

First all welcome to the site...

Sorry i can't help you with the first part of your question...  However i can say that there are english style sinks in Calis...  We are having on fitted although i'm not quite sure where we are getting it from...  We went with my builder to one of the marble places to find some suitable granit for our kitchen and they also sell the stainless steel sinks.  If you want you email me directly and i will find out for you...

Harley

By the way where on the outskirts of Norwich do you live...?  We're in Great Yarmouth...

There is a shop named MENDOS on the main road into Fethiye that specialises in sinks and bathroom equipment and prices are very good

I had to take my sink back because it woudn't hold water, the man at the shop asked if I had fitted the plug properly.
Silly me I didn't realise that Turkish sinks were electric!

:D:D

Hi Sue and Edward,
Dad just got back from furnishing his new apartment - his place has a small sink in the new kitchen, but he's certain there were large sinks in the plumbing shops.  Sorry, don't know what make.
As per Harley's post - where-abouts are you south of Norwich?  We're just outside Beccles.

Thank you for all your replies.

I had seen that there is a shop just on the outskirts of Fethiye
before you start to climb any hills, on the way to Ovacik.
This shop has a "Franke" sticker on the window. But having looked
at the Turkish Franke web site - the sinks are not quite what Im
looking for. Maybe Im just fussy ! but there are loads of square
sinks without draining boards here in the uk and I wondered if you
could get them in Turkey.

I noticed that there were Norwich/Norfolk people posting messages on this bulletin board - we live off the A140 about 15 miles south of Norwich.

And had never been to Turkey before buying this property.

Just decided that Turkey is a nice mixture of East and West and
that I was bored and wanted to do something different from everyone
else.

Or so I thought :D

Unable to help with your sink query, in fact after last week I am phobic with anything that involves water!LOL. We are East Anglians too, north of Norwich though. Welcome!
