Hi all,

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone. We have been looking at your site for a few weeks and have already got a great deal of invaluable information from reading previous posts, but we thought that it was about time we introduced ourselves. So here goes: We (Carol, Harry and our adult son Paul) come from Preston, Lancashire and we have just bought a property in Calis on Saray Yapi Koop (near the new hospital, apparently) with Apple Estates that will be finished around April/May time when we hope to be back to start furnishing it etc. (anyone else on Saray Yapi Koop?)
We (like many people I think) first looked in Spain but found that the prices kept going up and we were forever chasing the idea of a holiday home. We then decided to look in Turkey and booked a holiday last year in Fethiye (our first time in Turkey). We fell in love with the place and people, looked at a few properties and bought our home.
We will likely be pestering everyone with dumb and not so dumb questions about Calis/houses/shopping etc etc, hope you don't mind and we're looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hello Bradley and family

You will certainly get a lot from the site. We are not an owners yet but we hope to be by this time next week, we shall see.

I am a Turkaphile (if such a word exists) and I love the place. We have not seen much of Europe, but we never found the need to after our first visit to Turkey some years ago. We have not been to Calis before and we have only visited Fethiye, my stomping ground is normally the Dalyan area.

You will make lots of contacts here and lots of friends to quaff Efes with, I am sure.

We live just near you on two counts, just off Junction 23 of the M6 near Haydock and on Serinkent Sitesi at Calis.

We are having a bit of a get together in May this year with a party at the Hotel Ernur on May 12th, so let us know if you are around - Good luck with your new home.
