Hi just wondering if anyone can help our 14 month old granddaughter is coming with us in September our apartment is on the 3rd floor with iron railings on the balconies. I need to get some kind of protecting in place as we don't want her falling through you know how young ones try to get through everything. Suggestions as to what and where items can be obtained.

If you are in Calis I would suggest the Yapi Market close to the Sunday market, if in Fethiye area, go to Homeprof or Tekzan 8)

We got our gates filled in with small metal criss cross bars. The guys came and did the job and then painted the gates They are big gates that open the pathway for the car. We are really pleased with the job and it stops any dogs getting into the garden.

We got yellow and white striped cloth covers made with tiers to attach to the balcony railings, we got them made at one of the many shops on the main Gunlukbasi road, any of the shops with rolls of cloth etc. outside/inside shop, can't remember exactly how much they cost but was not that expensive.

A friend of ours got a puppy, and to stop it leaping off of the balcony, they put what looked very like our chicken wire around their balcony bars. Very easy to fix, just bend the ends round the bars, and is not intrusive on the eye, in fact you have to look very closely to notice it is there at all. Did the trick. Probably came from Yapi Market near Paza as they live quite near there. :)

When our grandchildren came, we didn't want anything permanent, so I just bought enough of those rush matting beach mats you can buy in any supermarket and by overlapping them, attached them to the bars all around the balcony. Cheap and cheerful but effective. They actually looked stylish! ;)

The work we had done to our gates is actually an assess and they now look much nicer. Great and an added bonus for us. We just wanted to stop dogs coming through and had thought about netting, but now this is done it will be cheaper in the long run and looks really good.

for a balcony on the 3rd floor or any floor this sounds like a really good idea, well done.

We bought the sun protection netting and wound it through the bars of our terrace. Think we bought the netting in home prof.
