Title: Shopping at Evkur? Take your hiking boots!
Post by: lagoon lover on September 25, 2014, 17:47:14 PM
Having had no luck in finding a suitable pair of curling tongs in Migros/Tansas etc, I recently went into town to see what the electrical shops had to offer. I eventually found what I was looking for in Evkur and although I felt that at 115tl, they were a little overpriced, I decided to buy them. The assistant took them from me and said "Pay upstairs" (slightly irritating as there is a counter near to the front door of the shop). I followed her upstairs and was led all around the shop to the top floor to pay. This is NOT a small shop!
I paid and walked back down the 4 large flights of stairs when I noticed that the assistant was attempting to put the curling tongs into a carrier bag at the counter at the front of the shop. They were the tongs that had been on display on the shelf. I asked her for a new pair and she said "No". So, I asked her to at least put them in the box for me to which she replied "No box". I was not prepared to pay 115tl for an ex display set with no box and/or instructions/guarantee. I explained this and told her that I needed the box as the tongs were a present, to which, clearly missing the point, she offered to gift wrap the display ones.
I asked for my money back and was told "Upstairs"!  >:( Eventually, after some discussion, a manager appeared with my money and I left.
Unprofessional (what sort of shop throws away the packaging of electrical items) and poor service. Shop here with caution.

Ev Kur shops specialise in second-hand and catalogue-return goods. Perhaps there wasn't a box.

I'd have had no issue with that had I been told before being sent up 4 floors of stairs to pay over the odds for what could have been a second hand item.
Thanks for that though KKOB, will know for next time   :)

Don't be put-off by this one experience. There are a number of Ev Kur shops in the area and there are some very good bargains to be had at them.
