Streams and stuff
« on: January 27, 2012, 12:58:05 PM »
Well, since this page is so quiet, I thought I would lliven it up.

Bad news - two young Turkish lads (about ages 6 and 11) going round randomly shooting an air rifle. Have not seen them since yesterday when they heard me on the telephone reporting them.

Good news - the streams that run down either side of the hill are full and flowing. From my balcony I can sit and hear the one that runs down to the prison, lovely.
Despite heavy rain (it is winter, so it is normal), there is no significant damage to any of our roads. A few small pot holes re opened, but that is all.

That's all folks! Deliktas just bumbles along happily and quietly as normal !!

We have never seen any water coming down the streams. Must be quite a sight.

The bus stops are still ok? (Scunner will be fretting; he always takes an interest in our prized local attractions)

The bus stops are fine!
FOrgot - most of the rubbish bins now have a recycling bin next to them (not ours at Symbola). They do seem to used and emptied often.

I too have never seen any water in these canals/ditches - is it as a direct result of the heavy rainfall recently?

The ditches are super and yes, because of the amount of rain we have had / are having. It is great!
The dolmus - hmm, last one at the moment is 6pm down the hill! No raving winetr social life here! Hopefully the evening buses will start again in the summer.

I thought we could encourage winter tourism with white water rafting days on Deliktas hill! Could be fun!
